Prescriptions
Repeat Prescriptions
If your doctor has prescribed medication on a long-term basis, you will be issued with a repeat prescription re-order form, which is attached to your printed prescription.
To order a repeat prescription, please tick the medications required and return it to the issuing surgery. If you wish to have the prescription returned to you by post, please supply a stamped addressed envelope.
Alternatively you may order online via the link at the top of this page. You will need to register for the service before you can use it. This is very simple, you need to provide ID at reception and you will be given a username and password for your own use.
Prescriptions will normally be ready for collection within 2 working days of receipt at the surgery, either online or in person.
All patients on repeat medications should be aware of the following:
- Medication reviews. All repeat prescriptions are regularly reviewed by the doctors. This is for your own safety, so please book a review appointment, when requested to do so.
- Do not put in a request for medication which is not on your repeat order form. This causes confusion, so please book an appointment with a doctor to discuss any additional medication requirements.
- If your medication has been changed by the hospital, they should give you enough of your new medication to allow them time to write to us and inform us of the changes. When you order your next repeat prescription, please check with the receptionist to ensure that we have updated your medication.
Dispensary
An in-house pharmacy has opened at New Street which offers a full prescription service including free delivery and patients can also purchase over the counter medication.
The Woodsetts branch surgery has an on-site dispensary where eligible patients can have their prescription dispensed. Opening times are: 09:00 – 13:00 and 14:00 – 18:00 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and 09:00 – 12:00 on Wednesday.
The surgery can only dispense your medication to you from our own dispensary if you live more than 1.6 km from a pharmacy. If you live within a 1.6 km radius of a pharmacy or request not to use our own dispensing service you will be issued with a prescription which can be dispensed by a pharmacy of your choice.
If you run out of your medicines outside normal opening hours and need some urgently, there are a few ways to get an emergency supply quickly, including if you're away from home. Please click the link below for more information.
